SOUL(SIGNS): Making Music Visible, a airing on PBS and streaming on WNET/ALL ARTS, is a collaboration between Deaf and hearing artists celebrating a journey of making music visible to the Deaf community as they create an American Sign Language (A.S.L.) music video for Morgan James' song "Drown."  Directed and co-written by theater, opera and film director alum Kevin Newbury ’00, the program features co-writer Brandon Kazen-Maddox.  Both Newbury and Kazen-Maddox are co-founders (along with Jecca Barry) of Up Until Now, a collective of artists formed to develop and produce interdisciplinary projects, with their stated goal being to “create inclusive, expansive collaborative spaces that center stories of empathy, intimacy and connection”.
